We’ll settle into the relaxed rhythm of southern Italy with a leisurely three-course welcome lunch before enjoying a tasting of Pizzo’s iconic truffle gelato. From there, we continue to the breathtaking cliffside town of Tropea for a guided walking tour through its historic streets, vibrant piazzas, and dramatic coastal viewpoints overlooking the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea.
In the evening, we’ll gather for dinner at a celebrated local restaurant before retreating to one of Calabria’s most beautiful boutique coastal properties, Hotel Armacera (or similar), where understated luxury, ocean views, and authentic Calabrian hospitality set the tone for the week ahead.

After breakfast overlooking the coast, we return to enchanting Tropea — often considered the jewel of Calabria. Perched dramatically above the sea, Tropea is known for its ancient stone buildings, vibrant local culture, and world-famous sweet red onions.
Our expert local guide will lead us deeper into the city’s hidden laneways, historic churches, and lively local markets while sharing the stories and traditions that define this extraordinary region. A leisurely three-course lunch showcases the fresh Mediterranean flavours Calabria is known for.
The evening is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Wander the seaside promenade, sip aperitivo overlooking the water, or simply relax back at our stunning coastal hotel. Gastronaut Tours believes luxury travel is about balance — curated experiences paired with time to truly absorb a destination.

Day 3 | Reggio Calabria
Today we journey south along Calabria’s spectacular coastline to elegant Reggio Calabria, a sophisticated seaside city overlooking Sicily and Mount Etna.
We begin with a visit to the renowned National Archaeological Museum, home to the world-famous Riace Bronzes — among the most significant ancient Greek sculptures ever discovered. We’ll also enjoy an exclusive visit to celebrated Calabrian jeweller Gerardo Sacco, whose creations are inspired by the rich artistic history of Magna Graecia.
After a beautiful local lunch, we immerse ourselves in one of Calabria’s most treasured exports: bergamot. Found almost exclusively in this region, bergamot is prized worldwide in fine fragrance and cuisine. At the Bergamotto Museum, we’ll enjoy a guided experience, aperitivo tasting, and hands-on perfume masterclass.
Tonight we stay at the stylish Hotel Medinblu (or similar), a refined boutique hotel in the heart of Reggio Calabria, offering contemporary luxury and sweeping waterfront views.

Day 4 | Geraci
This morning we depart Reggio Calabria and head inland through Calabria’s rugged countryside to the hilltop village of Gerace, one of southern Italy’s most beautiful hidden gems.
Here we’ll experience authentic rural Calabria with a private visit to Barone G.R. Macrì farm estate. Surrounded by rolling hills and ancient olive groves, we’ll enjoy guided tastings of local wines and olive oils alongside a traditional Calabrian lunch prepared with regional ingredients and generations-old techniques.
By evening we arrive at the stunning Praia Art Resort (or similar), an elegant luxury hideaway on Calabria’s Ionian coast where modern design meets untouched natural beauty. Dinner at the hotel allows us to unwind and enjoy the slower pace of southern Italian life.

Today is intentionally slower — an opportunity to savour Calabria at your own rhythm.
Spend the morning relaxing at our luxury seaside resort, enjoying the beach, spa amenities, or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the Ionian coast. Gastronaut Tours carefully designs each itinerary to include moments of pause alongside immersive culinary experiences.
In the evening, we reconvene for dinner at a beloved local restaurant in Le Castella, a picturesque coastal village known for its historic Aragonese castle rising directly from the sea. Fresh seafood, handmade pasta, and warm southern hospitality take centre stage tonight.
Thursday, May 1st
Day 6 | Crotone
After breakfast we travel to historic Crotone, an ancient port city steeped in Greek history and coastal culture.
A guided sightseeing tour introduces us to the city’s fascinating past before we stop for a tasting at a celebrated local cheese producer, where we’ll discover Calabria’s rich dairy traditions and artisanal craftsmanship.
Following a leisurely lunch, we continue into the mountainous Sila region and check into the beautiful Biafora Resort & Spa (or similar), a sophisticated alpine-inspired retreat surrounded by forests and fresh mountain air — a completely different side of Calabria that most travellers never experience.
This evening is one of the culinary highlights of the tour: dinner at Michelin-recognized Hyle Ristorante, where contemporary Calabrian cuisine is elevated through creativity, technique, and exceptional local ingredients.
Friday, May 2nd
Day 7 | Sila Mountains
Today we explore the rich agricultural traditions of Calabria’s Sila region — an area celebrated for its forests, mountain villages, and deeply rooted food culture.
We’ll visit a local potato producer to learn about one of the region’s prized ingredients before enjoying a rustic lunch showcasing hearty mountain cuisine and seasonal local products.
Later, we experience another cornerstone of Calabrian gastronomy with a guided olive oil tasting at a traditional frantoio. Here we’ll gain insight into the production methods and flavour profiles that make southern Italian olive oils so highly regarded.
Dinner this evening continues our exploration of authentic regional cuisine in the countryside surrounding Torre Garga.
